Amisha Chawla bags Rs 55 lakh package, as woman power ruled IIM-Ranchi this year


Woman power has ruled the roost at this year’s final placements at the Indian Institute of Management-Ranchi (IIM-R) with a girl bagging the highest package. Amisha Chawla, student of the college’s flagship postgraduate diploma in management (PGDM) in this year’s outgoing batch (2014-16) has earned a plump Rs 55 lakh per annum pay in a leading FMCG company at the on-campus placements. Amisha will join the company’s affairs in the African continent from April end.

While Amisha did not speak when contacted by The Times Of India, the IIM-R administration said this year they had hunderd percent final placements. “This year’s placement has recorded an overall 13% improvement from the 2013-15 academic session,” Soumya Sarkar, head of the placement cell of the college said. The college said the overall average annual package size was Rs 15.14 lakh. The highest domestic package in PGDM was Rs 25.5 lakh, the placement cell said.
The B-school impressed postgraduate diploma in human resource management (PGDHRM) program also made an impressive show. The IIM-R also witnessed a 7% increase in package volume from the last session with the top grosser walking away with Rs 20.2 lakh PA package. The college also saw several top recruiters making a beeline outside the campus, with companies like Google, Make My Trip, RPG Group, Accenture, Deloitte and e-commerce companies like Ola taking part in the hiring. The college placement said the 69 companies turned up for recruiting with 35 of them (including Google) coming for the first time. Of them seven were e-commerce sites and five start-ups, said Soumya.
