AIIMS PG 2016:- Aiims PG 2016 entrance exam was held by All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences for Post Graduate and Post Doctoral admissions. AIIMS PG 2016  entrance exam was held on 1st Nov 2015 for MD / MS / M.Ch(6yrs.) / DM(6yrs.) / MDS / DM / M.Ch(3yrs.) / Fellowship Programme / MD( Hospital Administration) Eligible candidate can fill the AIIMS PG January 2016 application form online at and registered candidate can issued the AIIMS PG January 2016 Admit card. Marks and rank obtained in the exam are displayed in AIIMS PG 2016 result on the basis of which counselling and seat allotment will be done.

Open selection for filling up vacant Postgraduate Seats for January, 2016 session (after 2nd Counselling) is to be held on 27 Jan 2016 at 08:30 AM in the Jawaharlal Auditorium, AIIMS, New Delhi. The candidates who are interested in attending Open Selection on the scheduled date will be required to register themselves online for Open Selection on the AIIMS website i.e. The online registration will open on 22 Jan 2016 at 10:00 AM and closed on 24 Jan 2016 at 5:00 PM and on the day of counselling candidates will have to produce printout of the slip issued to them at the time of online registration for Open Selection along with all original certificates of qualification.

In addition, seat/s falling vacant by way of surrender/resignation henceforth till 1:00 P.M. on 21 Jan 2016 will be added to vacant seats and will be available for Open Selection. Any resignation request received with the penalty amount by way of demand draft will be deemed to be resignation and the seat thus vacated will be included in Open Selection. However, any seat falling vacant after 01:00 PM on 21 Jan 2016 will be advertised in the next session i.e. July, 2016 only. The revised and updated list of vacant seats available for open selection will be uploaded on the AIIMS website by 5:00 PM on 21 Jan 2016.

Note :- Candidates will not be able to attend open selection without the production of printout of registration slip issued for open selection at the time of online registration.
All the selected candidates are advised to download their counselling call letter from the AIIMS, New Delhi website

  • In each category the number of candidates call for counselling will be 8 times the number of seats. The order of counselling will be General/50% AIIMS preferential candidates of total MBBS seats of AIIMS/ST/SC/OBC. The counselling will be done strictly by combined merit list starting from Rank No.1. The candidates in order of merit will exercise their choice of subject according to availability of seats.
  • In case of absentee, the next candidate in merit will be considered.
  • In case, during the open selection any ST seat remains vacant (after calling all eligible candidates of ST category) then this seat will be made available to the eligible SC category candidate and vice versa and even after doing this, if any, SC/ST seat remains vacant (after calling all eligible candidates of SC/ST category) then this vacant seat shall be made available to the eligible General Category candidate.
  • Similarly, in case the OBC seat remains vacant after calling all eligible OBC candidates then this vacant OBC seat shall be made available to the eligible General Category candidate.
  • All the candidates must bring the original certificates i.e. “Date of birth (matriculation certificate), proof of belonging to SC/ST/OBC (if applicable), MBBS/BDS mark sheets (including separate mark sheet for each of the professional examinations), Degree, Internship Completion Certificate, Permanent Medical Registration Certificate etc.”
  • All the candidates who have been allotted confirmed seat during 1st counselling shall deposit fee and after getting themselves medically examined by a Medical Board constituted by the Institute, they will join the course.
  • Candidates or their authorised representatives participating in the counselling process are required to maintain proper decorum/discipline at the time of counselling.
  • The selected candidates shall undergo a medical examination by the Board appointed by the Institute and if found medically fit will join the course on 1st January, 2016 after depositing the requisite fee. They shall forfeit all their claims to the PG seats if they do not join by 31st January, 2016 and fee deposited by them will not be refunded. No candidate, in any circumstances, shall be allowed to join after 31st January, 2016.
The counselling information given above is not applicable for Ph.D Courses.

AIIMS PG 2016 Application Form:

AIIMS PG 2016 Application Form (for MD / MS / M.Ch (6 years) / MDS / DM / M.Ch (3 years) / Fellowship Programme / MD (Hospital Administration) / Ph.D) submission has started. Interested candidates must fill the AIIMS online application form for PG entrance examination before the last date. Application fee includes fee for entrance examination is non-refundable. AIIMS Online Registration for PG 2016 exam consists of registration, filling up the form, fee payment via debit / credit card / challan.

  • A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination is required to submit his/her application form of AIIMS PG 2016 in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on
  • The cost of AIIMS PG Application Form 2016 includes the fee for entrance examination which is non-refundable and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
  • The candidate is required to go through the prospectus carefully and acquaint himself/herself with all requirements with regard to filling in of the AIIMS online application form.

Eligibility Criteria:

For MD / MS/ MDS

  • A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD/MS and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognized by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training on or before 30th January, 2016
  • The candidate must have obtained a minimum of the following marks in aggregate in all the MBBS/BDS professional examinations-
  1. For candidates belonging to the SC/ST Categories 50% marks in aggregate.
  2. For all other categories including OBC Category 55% marks in aggregate

For MCh (6 years) / DM (6 years)

The candidate must possess a MBBS degree and should have completed the required period of one year compulsory Internship. He/she must have obtained at least 55% marks in aggregate in all the MBBS professional examinations. The eligibility criteria are same as specified for MD/MS (3 years) courses.

For Ph.D

A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of a Degree of Doctor of Philosophy must possess at least one of the following qualifications of a recognized University/Institute
  • A degree of Master of Sciences or Master’s degree in any subject allied to Bio-Medical Sciences or Master’s Degree in Nursing with at least 60% marks or Master of Surgery or Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree or Diplomat of the National Board of Examinations.
  • MBBS degree with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the professional examinations
