The Indian Postal Service being the world’s largest network over world carries a good amount of the aura of living in large bungalows etc. Public exposure can be the one and only thing you may miss sometimes. This service moreover would allow you opportunities to give services to your native country with the  help of creating newer and better schemes for the country especially when communication medium is varying at a very fast mode.

Indian Postal Service Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria for the Indian Postal Service exam is although the same as for other services introduced by the government. So, if the candidate gets successful in qualifying the civil services exam and gets allotment to the Service as per his/her rank position, he/she would have to go for some special training.



Indian Postal Service Recruitment & Training:


Like the other Group A services, Indian Postal Service recruitment is also organized in two modes. It is done through UPSC regular recruitment of service annually and also by promoting the Group ‘B’ officers who are already in service of the Indian Postal Service but the condition is that they must have been in the service for at least three years of regular service in this position. The officers are brought forward by Departmental Promotion Committee duly introduced for the upgradation purpose of Group ‘B’ officers to Group ‘A’ in healthy discussion with the Union public selection commission board.
The officers selected by the direct recruitment are then sent for FC Training i.e. Foundational Course at:
  • LBSNAA i.e. Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration situated in Mussourie and
  • NADT i.e. National Academy of Direct Taxes situated in Nagpur and
  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy –located in Hyderabad
These are usually known for being  the Department of Personnel and Training (DoP&T). The skilled training program in Postal Management and Administration is conducted in:
  • RAKNPA i.e. Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy which is in Ghaziabad.
